About East-West
About The Work
December 1, 1937-August 23, 2025
Bud has been an integral part of the ministry of East-West since the beginning and faithfully labored to take the gospel to all people for decades.
When the Lord laid it on John Maisel’s heart to begin an international missions organization in closed and limited access countries, he turned to his dear friend Bud to help him. Bud and his wife, Carolyn, had been church planters in America and also ministered to pastors in Eastern Europe and Russia.
In 1993, John and Bud founded East-West, a ministry that now operates in more than 50 nations. Bud began serving on East-West’s Board of Directors in 1993, serving as Board Chairman from 2005 to 2013. He was also involved in ministry in Russia during that time. In 2020, Bud took a step back from leadership responsibilities at East-West but remained on the Board of Directors until his passing.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to East-West, a ministry close to Bud’s heart.
