Jeff loves pastoring, especially leading, preaching, and mentoring young pastors. He is also the author of five books: “The Great Verses,” “Breaking Free of OCD,” “Love: Revealing the Heart of God,” “Unhurried Time With God,” and “Soul on Fire: The Privilege of Preaching.”

Kristen Shuler • Executive Vice President of Development

Prior to East-West, he served as the Vice President of Global Missions Fellowship (now e3 Partners). Kurt holds an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina, a master’s degree of Theology in World Missions from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Missions Leadership from Columbia International University.

Kristen Shuler • East-West, Executive Vice President of Development

Kristen provides oversight and direction to East-West’s development and marketing and communications departments. Prior to joining East-West, Kristen served alongside the International Mission Board on the mission field across South America, primarily focusing on evangelism and church planting strategies. She continues to fulfill her calling and passion for missions through her role at East-West.

East-West Field Workers

Various East-West missionaries and national partners from around the globe are taking a short leave from their posts to meet you and share the remarkable acts of God in the spiritually darkest areas of the world. As the boots on the ground for East-West, our field workers will detail how multiplying disciples and churches works in the regions where they serve.

TRANSPORTATION
As you make your travel arrangements, we want to share a few helpful tips on how to best get to Asheville.

Air: The closest airport is Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) and is approximately 14 miles south of the Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove. The Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) is the closest international airport and is about 80 miles south of the training center. You may also fly into Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), which is about 120 miles from the center.

Land: Travel options between AVL and the Billy Graham Training Center at the Cove include rental cars and ride-hailing services. If you are flying into GSP or CLT, we recommend renting a car for the weekend.

ATTIRE
We recommend casual attire for all program sessions and free time activities. For men, we suggest wearing jeans or khakis paired with a polo or button down shirt. For women, we suggest wearing jeans or a casual skirt with a blouse.

Preparing for the Retreat

As the retreat approaches, we encourage you to join us in praying for our time together using the following prayer.

Lord, thank You for this special time to understand Your heart for the nations. Please prepare me to grow however you lead so that I can participate more fully in building up Your Church in my sphere of influence and around the world. Thank You for saving me and giving me the privilege of being a part of bringing Your Kingdom to Earth. Use me for Your glory. Amen.
