Pray Bigger, Dream Wilder, Believe Greater for Missions

“‘Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession.’” -Psalm 2:8

“The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord … .” -Isaiah 11:2

“‘Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.’” -Isaiah 54:2-3

God’s Invitation to Ask Boldly

My desire in this devotional is to inspire and urge you to pray bigger; ask for bold, God-sized dreams; and believe Him for even more than your eyes have yet to see. I want to take you into the intimate pages of my journal because these are the very Scriptures I am clinging to in this season—words that are not just ink on paper, but fuel my faith.

“Lord, today, I ask You for the nations, for Your anointing, and for Your increase. I am asking You to assign me specific nations You have placed on my heart. I pray for doors to open that no man can shut. I pray for increase over my life in calling and anointing for the nations. I pray that You would widen my possession, stretch my capacity, and enlarge the borders of my influence until my life overflows with Kingdom fruit.”

What are you asking the Lord for as part of your legacy and inheritance? What will your children carry forth from your life? For those who have not borne children, what will your spiritual children carry forth? Scripture declares:

“‘Sing, barren woman, you who never bore a child; burst into song, shout for joy … because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband,’ says the Lord.” -Isaiah 54:1

When our lives are available to plant the gospel in the next generation, God Himself will multiply our impact. He will raise you up as a spiritual mother—or father—to nations, tribes, and peoples. I see this in the women who faithfully travel with me to the nations, pouring themselves out for others—women like Lizzy, Patti, Alex, and Stacey, who now have countless spiritual sons and daughters scattered across the globe. Heaven will be filled with their offspring—faces and names they may never know this side of eternity. I can picture their children greeting them with joy in Heaven one day.

What is the possession you hold in your heart or hands that God desires to widen?

David began as a shepherd in the quiet fields. His possession was sheep. He didn’t ask to be king, but God was preparing him for more by teaching him to shepherd well. What you hold now may seem small, but in God’s eyes, it may be the training ground for something that will shake nations. Don’t look at your flock or your field and think, “This is it.” The Lord is inviting us to lift our eyes and ask—not just for our street or city but for entire nations. Our vision must match His: vast, borderless, and burning with His love for the whole Earth.

The Spirit Empowers the Mission

On the foundation of bold prayers, the Spirit of the Lord will rest on His people with wisdom, counsel, and might. Revival is never sustained by mere human strategy; it is carried by the weight of His presence. He will open your eyes to see what He sees, to feel what He feels, and to partner with Him in bringing His plans to pass. I praise God for the women and men in this hour who are stepping forward without hesitation, determined not to shrink back.

Some of my dearest friends—Rose Ann, Charlotte, Lucy, Sandy, and Joy—are in their 80s. Yet, in the last two years, each one raised her hand and said, “Send me, Lord.” They refused to be bound by limitations, excuses, or the voice of fear. They simply obeyed. And in His perfect timing, God is fulfilling through them the assignments He prepared long before they were knit together in their mothers’ wombs. Watching them walk this path is nothing short of wonder. I honor them greatly.

The Call to Expand Beyond Our Comfort Zones

Revival always stretches us. It pushes us beyond what feels safe or predictable. It asks us to make room in the very places we’ve declared too small or too weak. But here’s the truth: God is not looking for the strongest or most qualified; He is looking for the surrendered. And when our hearts say, “Yes,” He moves with power that defies human logic and opens doors no one else can touch.

This is our moment.
Ask boldly.
Receive fully.
Expand fearlessly.

Let the Spirit fall. Let the nations be swept into the Kingdom. And may the cry of our hearts echo through eternity, “Lord, let revival come—and let it begin with us.”
