Obedience to the Father: A Young Girl’s Journey of Faith

Mishka’s family was Hindu, and at eight years old, she had only learned and been exposed to the idol worship rituals of her parents.

So when an East-West short-term missionary team visited a Christian church in her village, Mishka’s curiosity lured her toward the foreigners. She decided to attend the team’s kids program at the church and not tell her parents.

That’s where she heard about Jesus for the very first time.

Choosing Obedience to the Heavenly Father

Mishka didn’t need much convincing to accept Jesus. The mission team’s gospel presentation was winsome and the Holy Spirit moved in Mishka’s soul, filling her heart and giving her the abundant and eternal life Jesus promises to everyone who follows Him.

But when her parents found out, they weren’t happy about her change of faith. They didn’t like the Jesus Mishka now believed in and expected their young daughter to obey their wishes.

Submitting Fully to the Heavenly Father

Despite her parent’s disapproval, Mishka stands firm in her belief in the gospel—fully submitted to the authority of her Heavenly Father. With the life-giving words of the East-West missionaries still ringing in her mind, Mishka regularly attends Sunday school at the church where she met Jesus.
