God’s Movement in the Middle East

Cynthia was a member of East-West’s first short-term mission trip to a new Middle Eastern country. Their team’s task was finding Persons of Peace in the city to start spiritual conversations and connect them with local believers and missionaries.

Unexpected Movement in the Middle East

To her surprise, God orchestrated one of her best conversations on the hotel elevator.

She was headed out for a day of ministry with the team when she met Saad—a Saudi born Muslim man who now lived in England. He was headed to the hotel spa and shared that an inexpensive medical procedure drew him to the city.

Saad quickly—and uncharacteristically—opened up about his broken life.

Witnessing Movement in the Middle East

Cynthia sat with him for two hours discussing the differences between Islam and a relationship with Jesus. At the end of their conversation, Saad did not accept Christ, but he did invite another short-term team member to join him at the mosque across the street later that night.

The next day Saad flew back to England, ending his time with this short-term team.

Pray for the Middle East

Since returning from the Middle East and reflecting on her interaction, Cynthia is confident Saad was affected by the love of God and the opportunity to have a personal relationship with Him through Jesus.

God is moving in the Middle East. Please join us in praying for Saad and the stirring of other Muslim’s hearts toward interest in the person of Jesus Christ.
