“Come On” by Brooke Poindexter and Believers
A Note From Julie
Today’s devotional is written by my dear friend and partner in the gospel, Christina McCracken. She is a lover of the Word of God and His people. Her heart is to get people moving in freedom and victory for the sake of the gospel and the world that desperately needs Him. This devotional is a charge to the body of Christ to arise and move to the front lines of what God is doing right now across the globe. When she was texting me what God was speaking to her in real time, I asked her to write this out also for you. It’s a now word for us in these final days before the rapture of the Church. Let’s bring the Lamb the reward of His suffering.
Scripture
“And when David inquired of the Lord , he said, “You shall not go up; go around to their rear, and come against them opposite the balsam trees. And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then rouse yourself, for then the Lord has gone out before you to strike down the army of the Philistines.”” -2 Samuel 5:23-24
Learning from David’s Example
Recently, I was sitting outside at a café in beautiful Utah enjoying the cool 78-degree weather, having just arrived from a triple-degree heatwave in Texas. On this day, the spirit of God was resting on me. You know that kind of day. The day when you are in the glory zone. The day when everything in your mind and heart, all that you are seeing is speaking prophetically to you. For me, when I get into that zone, it’s as if I move from one thought to the next, and each thought is filled with fearless, mountain-moving faith. In the glory zone, your faith is certain in what you see and hear. In that place, what you see and hear is reality.
Suddenly, from my spirit I spoke these words: “It’s time to mobilize the troops.” As soon as the words left my lips, I saw angelic troops advancing forward, going in front of us to prepare the way and other troops standing at attention, ready to move as we move—a coalition of angel armies going in front of us to prepare the way, and angel armies standing behind to accompany us as we move forward.
As I watched and spoke, the above Scripture came to mind. It is the story of King David, who had recently ascended to the throne of Israel. Shortly after David moved the capital to Jerusalem, the Philistines began to attack. In the initial confrontation with the Philistine army, King David’s defense was to attack the Philistines head-on. In this approach, God gave him victory. But then the Philistines attacked a second time. On this occasion, David did not rely on his past battle strategy of a frontline attack but inquired of the Lord. In this second battle, the Lord’s counsel was markedly different. The Lord told the king to approach the Philistines from the back, not head-on and wait to attack. David was to mobilize, have his army set in array for battle but wait to attack until he heard marching in the mulberry trees. Once he heard marching, it was Heaven’s sign that the Lord’s armies had arrived and Heaven was ready to give the battle victory. David’s charge was to arise, engage the enemy, mobilize the troops, listen for the Lord’s cue, and advance quickly.
You who have been listening to the prophets these many days know it is now time to arise, engage, and mobilize. This is our charge as God’s ecclesia on the Earth. Heaven has now released a coalition of angel armies, allied troops that have been commissioned from Heaven to render battle assistance to those ready to arise, engage the enemy, mobilize, and take home the victory. This is a historical moment. Sincerely, all of Heaven is engaged in this battle, and you and I are both called and fashioned to engage with Heaven in this conflict.
Understanding Spiritual Mobilization
The American Heritage Dictionary defines the intransitive verb “mobilize” to mean to prepare, to assemble, to put into active service, or coordinate for a purpose. This word so well defines our mission as God’s ruling armies; we are to prepare, assemble, put into active service, and coordinate for a Kingdom purpose.
So here is my question: Are you ready to arise, engage, mobilize, and take home the victory spoils? Can you hear marching in the mulberry trees?
For me, my answer is yes. I have heard marching in the mulberry trees, and I am ready to mobilize for the purpose of Heaven and engage in the spiritual conflict set before me. For me, I feel the Lord’s confident assurance of victory, and I know without reservation that the Lord has commissioned this mobilization, commissioned this call, and has specifically assigned His warring angels to go before and behind to give the King His certain victory.
Moving Forward in Faith
So again, my question is, are you ready to arise, engage, mobilize, and take home the victory spoils?
I believe that you are like me, and the Lord has been stirring you deep within your soul for years, depositing a deep knowing that you were made for the final hours of history. I believe you can say for certain that God has been preparing you, you have been responding to the Master’s molding, and you have surrendered to the anvil of the Lord. And now is your time. Now it is time to join the front lines with us, the remnant of God, the ecclesia, the saints of God on the battlefield.
I think of David having served King Saul (1 Samuel 16) before he faced Goliath. When he faced Goliath, David had no reservations or conflict in his soul. This was because David stayed close to the Lord and knew his strength came from the Lord alone. David’s confidence was forged through years with the Master. Saint, this is you. All the years of molding at the hand of the Master is for this very hour.
It is time to arise, engage, mobilize, and take home the victory spoils.
