Executive Vice President of Development

Position Summary​

The Executive Vice President of Development (EVP of Development) takes primary responsibility for raising the general fund ministry budget of East-West through managing an integrated fundraising strategy and supervising the Development and Marketing and Communications Teams. This will be accomplished by (1) cultivating current and new relationships with major donors, (2) developing and executing an integrated strategy for raising ministry funds, (3) providing leadership for the Development Department that will support this strategy, and (4) engaging internal and external partners to assist in raising funds. The EVP of Development will ensure that all fundraising activities are ethical, legal, biblical, and consistent with the Ends Policy of East-West. In addition, the EVP of Development will serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and provide strategic, collaborative oversight for the ministry’s endeavors. This EVP is responsible for playing his/her part in achieving the bigger mission of East-West and for ensuring that all development, marketing, and communications initiatives are clearly aligned with East-West’s vision, mission, values, Statement of Faith, and biblical principles.

As an ambassador of faith in Christ and rooted in biblical principles, the Executive Vice President of Development will actively minister to East-West leadership, staff, partners, and the community in a manner that exhibits Christ-character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 5-10 years minimum experience working in a similar role, required 
  • 5-10 years of ministry/nonprofit experience, required
  • Demonstrates a healthy, growing spiritual life, including a servant attitude toward leadership responsibilities
  • Ability to clearly articulate and affirm his/her relationship with Jesus Christ, profess a commitment to his/her faith, and reflect a Christ-focused life in word and action. This person should be able to comfortably discuss his/her faith with others
  • Proven fundraising leader
  • High degree of understanding of the ministry activities and strategies on the field and be able to effectively communicate field vision and needs with current and potential donors
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally
  • Servant leader with the ability to motivate others

The East-West Office Space

The East-West office space is located in Plano, Texas, at The Hope Center. 

The Hope Center is a 501(c)(3) collaborative hub that is home to 60-plus Christian ministries making a global impact for God’s Kingdom. 

The Hope Center offers an onsite cafe and coffee bar (that serves breakfast and lunch) as well as other features and amenities, including a covered parking garage, prayer garden, fitness center, meeting rooms and facilities, and 24-hour security.

The East-West suite, located on the third floor of The Hope Center, consists of office and cubicle space for our staff.

With staff serving around the world, the home office is home to departments, such as Human Resources, Financial Services, IT, Member Care, Security and Crisis Management, Short-Term Mission Teams, Development, and various field leadership and missionary staff. 

The suite also includes meeting spaces, a kitchen with free coffee, and a prayer room for staff use.
