Short term team home safely
After a week of ministry and Gospel-sharing among many unreached Indian villages, the short term team arrived home safely yesterday. The Lord was truly glorified through the team’s ministry in Pondicherry as 763 Indians were exposed to the Gospel, and 391 Indians prayed asking Jesus to be the only God of their life. Praise the Lord for His faithful pursuit of His people!
The “capturing” adventure continues
“How is God working in India?” This is the question I sought to answer as I began this journey. As our team of 3 (Bob West, Trey Hill, and myself) travels from village to village and city to city, God’s hand has literally left us speechless many times. We have “captured” God’s work through East-West in many families, numerous villages, an orphanage, a leper colony, the lives of national key leaders, and endless changed life stories.
We have spent the last day and a half at a leper colony where East-West has ministered through short-term trips. Leper after leper shared their changed life story with us. Most of their testimonies included that they had heard the Gospel for the very first time through Americans (East-West short-term “trippers”) who had come to share their own testimony of God’s work in their lives. In a world of suffering and complete rejection, this colony of ‘untouchables’ finally found the embrace of a loving God. “When I saw the white spots, I knew I was an untouchable. I didn’t want to live any longer,” explained colony elder Ravaniah. “But now that I have Jesus, I have a reason to live!”
Seeing the joy and faith of such a seemingly hopeless caste of people has changed my life. “No matter how much we suffer, we have HOPE in Jesus.”
We are so grateful for the opportunity to experience God’s work among the people of India. Thank you for joining us in prayer, and please continue to pray for direction for our team as we have many busy days ahead.
