On September 20, East-West participated in North Texas Giving Day for the eighth straight year. On this day of generosity, we prayerfully and boldly asked our supporters to consider giving a special donation of $25 or more that would be multiplied up to $350,000.
And God provided to the praise of His glory!
As the clock struck midnight, our matching funds were met and a total of $1,032,620 was generously given for the expanse of the Kingdom of God. As each offering came in, our staff was reminded that God multiplies.
The first command He gave humanity was to be fruitful, multiply, and subdue the earth (Genesis 1:18). The people of God did just that as Israel grew and grew.
As Jesus ministered to the masses, he twice used his disciples to multiply fish and loaves to feed thousand in order to teach them about a better bread—the bread of life (Mark 6:30-44, Mark 8:38-13, John 6:25-59). At His ascension, 120 believers existed (Acts 1:15) and by the end of Acts that number had multiplied well into the thousands who lived from Jerusalem to Rome and beyond (Acts 2:41, Acts 11:12, Acts 19:10, Acts 28:31).
Today the number of individuals following Jesus surpasses two billion and that number is exponentially growing as you read this post.
That same principle applies to the treasures we steward for gospel work among the unreached, and North Texas Giving Day was a remarkable example of that. Gifts given to East-West were each multiplied up to $350,000, and because it only costs our ministry $0.06 to reach one person with the gospel, $8 to train one believer, and $11 to plant one reproducing church, these funds can …
- Reach 8,260,963 people with the good news of Jesus
- Equip 23,233 local believers to evangelize, disciple, and multiply
- Plant 15,958 reproducing churches
Because God multiplies, we eagerly anticipate the eternal fruit birthed among the unreached through North Texas Giving Day as He leverages the generosity of His people for His glory.
Thank you for joining us in this Christ-exalting mission!
