0

By East-West Ministries on February 14th, 2017

EW_Nepal_12102013_3_1376.jpgToday we are excited to introduce to you East-West’s spring interns who are currently thriving in their respective roles within our ministry.

To help you get to know them a little better, we asked about their school, favorite Scripture and favorite part about working at East-West. Here are their responses:

KAYLA A.—MOBILIZATION INTERN

School: Dallas Baptist University

Major: Intercultural Studies/Global Leadership

Favorite Scripture: Ephesians 3

Fun Fact: I have moved 11 times throughout my life, including moving houses, cities and countries!

Favorite Thing about East-West:  Being able to see how individual gifts are brought together and used for the glory of Christ!

JOLIE P.—SHORT-TERM MISSION TRIP INTERN

School: Dallas Baptist University

Major: Intercultural Studies

Favorite Scripture: Proverbs 16:9

Fun Fact: When I was little, all I wanted to be when I grew up was a dolphin trainer at SeaWorld. I’m clearly well on my way to that goal…

Favorite thing about East West: The people! I have only been here a few short weeks, but in my time here I have felt so welcomed and loved. Everyone here genuinely cares and loves for one another and I can see that so clearly. I am so grateful to work at a place that lives out the gospel not just on the mission field but behind their cubicles as well.

ABIGAIL F.—MARKETING AND DEVELOPMENT INTERN

School: Southern Methodist University

Major(s): Human Rights, Public Relations

Favorite Scripture: Galatians 2:21

Fun Fact: My parents are the proud owners of eight miniature ponies.

Favorite thing about East-West: I love seeing the unique initiatives East-West creates to spread the gospel to unreached people groups. The amount of research and prayer that goes into each initiative is really unique to this organization, and that makes me proud to be a part of it!

CRYSTAL L.—HUMAN RESOURCES INTERN

School: University of Texas at Dallas

Major: Business Administration with a concentration in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management.

Favorite Scripture: 1 Peter 5:7

Fun Fact:  When I was younger I bit anyone—other than my parents—who tried to hold me.

Favorite Thing About East-West: I really love the four strategies in the mission statement: Mobilize the Body of Christ, Evangelize the Lost, Equip Local Believers, Multiply Disciples and Churches.

WHITNEY H.—SHORT-TERM MISSION TRIP INTERN

School: The Kings University

Major: Christian Studies

Favorite Scripture: Isaiah 51:16

Fun Fact: I LOVE culture, and if I could live in a different culture every day of my life I would.

Favorite Thing About East-West: I love East-West’s authentic heart for God’s people and passion for sharing the gospel within each nation’s cultural context. Also, I love the important emphasis that is placed on training up disciples to continue to multiply the gospel and church in each nation. Sharing the gospel is a team effort throughout the body of Christ, regardless of nation or tongue, and East-West never forgets that. I LOVE this organization and am proud to say I am a part of what God is doing through East-West.

KIRSTEN M.—MARKETING AND DEVELOPMENT INTERN

School: Dallas Baptist University

Major: Communications

Favorite Scripture: Romans 8

Fun Fact: I can solve a Rubik’s cube.

Favorite thing about East-West: It’s awesome seeing everyone in the office, especially our leadership, actively surrender their own plans and desires for East-West so the Lord will have His way in this ministry. I love that the work we do here has nothing to do with us, and everything to do with how the Lord is moving and bringing hope to the darkest places around the world.

ADDISON W.—MOBILIZATION INTERN

School: Dallas Baptist University

Major: Camp/Sports Leadership and Communication Theory

Favorite verse: Jeremiah 20:9

Fun Fact: If you catch me up late at night you might find me performing one of my very own original songs about life.

Favorite thing about East-West: I love the passion and drive all the staff members have to see the Gospel reach all people, while equipping churches to do the same.
